Avril Lavigne Grants Fan’s “Make-a-Wish”

by User ImageColleen on April 28th, 2008

Avril_Kingston33Avril Lavigne just made a dying girl’s dream come true!  During her tour stop in Miloxi, Mississippi, Avril teamed up with the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and the Make-A-Wish-Foundation to grant the wish of 14-year-old Kaylin Giroir of Louisiana.  Kaylin, who has muscular dystrophy, got to make an appearance on the red carpet before the concert, as well as a Fender guitar signed by Avril herself!  Kaylin also got to spend private one-on-one time with Avril in her dressing room before the concert and then sat in VIP seats.

3 opinions for Avril Lavigne Grants Fan’s “Make-a-Wish”

This story is both sad and heartwarming. It speaks a lot to Avril’s character that she took the time to fulfill this girl’s dream to meet someone who she looks up to. To paraphrase a famous poet, ‘The world is full of more weeping than you can understand’…and in light of the bad things that happen to good people, Avril added one more thing to the list of good things that occur in a world that can at the same time be harsh and cruel. I applaud Avril for her virtuous character in this respect…it’s not always easy to witness first hand the pain that others suffer, especially when it has to do with a child who is ill. Despite the nonsense that is sometimes written about Avril in the media, I know that I can rest assured that she is a good person who doesn’t forget about putting her good fortune and talents to good deeds. Rock on Avril.
