How Avril Lavigne Got the Nickname Abbey Dawn

A while back, we were all wondering about the origins of the name of Avril Lavinge’s clothing line, Abbey Dawn. We know her dad came up with that nickname for her, but one of our readers, Courtney, did some research into it and here’s what she found:
I saw in one of your posts about Avril’s new clothing line that you and some of your readers were wondering where her dad came up with that nickname, and I am about 99.9% sure that I found it. It was a sanctuary not far from Napanee that was a gathering place for creative and spiritual people like writers and poets and also musicians, so he picked a very appropriate name to call her as a child!
