Avril Lavigne Donates Guitar

Over on ebay, I noticed that Avril Lavigne has joined a worthy "cause."  Here’s part of what I read:

Welcome to Waxploitation’s 4th Auction to benefit the victims of Darfur.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will be split between three non-profit organizations working in Darfur: Doctors Without Borders, Human Rights Watch and Oxfam America.

This year’s items have been donated by a ‘who’s who’ of artists, including signed guitars from Flaming Lips, Avril Lavigne, Norah Jones, Nickelback, Deftones and Common, as well as items signed by Gnarls Barkley, Kanye West, Gorillaz, Coldplay, Wilco, TV on the Radio, Decemberists, Bloc Party, Macy Gray and Thievery Corporation, to name a few. The auction also includes items from Don Cheadle, Julius ‘DR J’ Erving, MTV, Sony Playstation, Xbox, Zoo York, Adidas, T-Mobile, Nokia, Nintendo, Adult Swim to name just a few. Have a look around.

That’s the best damn part (excuse the pun)!!!  You can give AND receive at the same time!

Here’s how the guitar is described:

Up for auction is a brand new signed by Avril Lavigne Squier Fender Affinity series Stratocaster.  The guitar is brand new and never been played. The color of the guitair is red and signed in black by Avril Lavigne.  Dressed in new eye-popping finishes, these Fender designed Stratocaster guitars have a great look and feel.  With a contoured alder body, bolt-on maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and late 60’s headstock, three single coil pickups and standard tremolo system, the Affinity Series Stratocaster guitar has all the vintage vibe.  The guitar is in MINT condition and has  only been taken out  of the box so Avril can sign it.

Sounds awesome!  With it being Christmastime, I actually don’t have the money but I wish I did!!!
